Examity can detect cheating through the use of proctoring software that monitor and flag suspicious activities by the students. Through proctor tools, Examity is able to access students’ computers, monitor IP addresses, record video, audio, and prevent switching of tabs.

Does Examity see your face?

The software clearly watches you through your webcam – their demonstration video shows their software running facial recognition through your video feed. Now they can’t actually see out of your webcam. You can be doing anything you want behind the webcam – they’ll only see the feed you send them.

Does Examity share your screen?

You will navigate to a new screen and a pop-up window will appear asking you to grant Examity access to your microphone. You will see a pop-up window appear, prompting you to share your screen. Please select your screen, then press “Share” in the pop-up window.

Does Examity sell your information?

We do not sell, share, or market your data to third-parties. We do not analyze your data to infer more information about you. We do not store your data past the length of our contract with your institution/organization. We do not use your information to sell or market to you.

How long does Examity take to audit?

After the exam, each exam appointment is audited twice to ensure issues of academic integrity or unprofessional conduct are discovered, so they can be addressed. The second audit occurs 24-72 hours after the appointment.

Is Examity a lockdown browser?

Examity is not compatible with third-party testing tools. Only use Lockdown Browser when the exam resides in the LMS. You can toggle Lockdown Browser on/off after an exam has been created, but we recommend that you do not adjust after the exam window has opened. This ensures all test-takers have the same experience.

Does Examity have live Proctor?

Examity’s live exam proctor will conduct a 360᷾° sweep of the room and workstation, ensuring any unauthorized materials are removed before testing can proceed. Once live authentication is complete, the proctor will provide the test-taker with access to the exam, and the Examity proctor will leave the session.

Does Examity use zoom?

Video Conferencing Software: Examity uses two types of video conferencing software (GoToMeeting or Zoom) to allow for you to meet virtually with your Examity proctor.

How long does Examity take to connect?

Authentication does not detract from your exam time and takes only about five minutes to complete.

Does Examity take control of your computer?

During this time the proctor does not have control of your computer in any way other than being able to move the mouse and use the keyboard. You have the ability to revoke remote access at any time during the exam session. You are free to leave the exam session.

How do you know if you get flagged on Examity?

Here’s how and where flags are applied: Green flags are raised when there is no incident. Yellow flags are issued when a rule is broken a violation does not necessarily take place. Red flags are given when the test-taker exhibits clear aberrant behavior.
