How many days do you need in Uluru?

Given the wide variety of activities on offer, we recommend staying at least three days to give yourself time to explore, learn, go on some adventures and take your time to understand this special place. But don’t worry if you’re only here for a short visit.
What is the best season to visit Uluru?
The best time to come is between May and September, when the maximum temperature during the day is usually between 20°C and 30°C. The cool weather means it is safer and much more pleasant to walk, and there is very little rain.
Can you tour Uluru on your own?
You can visit nearly all the areas on your own but a guided walk with one of the traditional owners at the base of Uluru is a must.

Why is Uluru so expensive?

The Uluru base walk is about 10 km of track that takes you around the whole circumference of the rock. You can take the entire Uluru base walk, or just concentrate on one or more of its sections, depending on how much time you have, your level of fitness and the weather.
How far is Alice Springs from Uluru?

The drive between Alice Springs and Uluru is an absolute must-do, taking travellers through the heart of the country. And it’s not a long one, either – the one-way trip from Alice Springs to Uluru is just 450km/5.5 hours on fully-sealed roads.
Are flies a problem at Uluru?
No – though this is a common misconception. Uluru is a five-hour drive south west of Alice Springs, so if you want to fly directly to Uluru, book your flights to Ayers Rock Airport (also known as Connellan Airport) in Yulara.
