Insta snow is great for making animal footprints or even drawing letters and numbers. We used this animal track sheet from the RSBP to learn about different animal footprints and also took a bit of inspiration from our current favourite books, The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child.
How do you make Instagram snow?
Steps:
- Pour about 15 ounces of iodized salt into a mixing bowl.
- Add a very small amount of cold water. Begin with a teaspoon amount and stir the snow and water with a fork.
- Keep stirring with a fork to fluff up your salty snow mixture. When it gets to a fluffy texture then you are ready to enjoy your snow!
Can you color instant snow?
Insta-Snow is a superabsorbent polymer. Whether you have some food coloring or a bag of our Fizzers Coloring Tablets, dye your water and watch the Insta-Snow become whatever color you created! (We recommend using Fizzers, since food coloring has a tendency to stain.)

One: In a large bowl mix 2 1/2 cups of pure baking soda with 1/2 a cup of white hair conditioner. Two: Stir mixture in large bowl until ingredients are well combined. Three: Enjoy, hours of sensory play!
How do you make slime with instant snow?
Put Insta Snow in a seperate medium bowl. Add HOT water to Insta Snow to activate. Fluff it up until it’s fluffy. Add slime to activated Insta Snow and combine well.
How do u make fake snow?
Shaving cream and cornstarch. Mix equal parts shaving cream (foam, not gel) and cornstarch for this recipe, which makes a dense, foamy snow that is very easy to mold. Cornstarch and lotion. Mix together equal parts cornstarch and lotion for this crumbly snow recipe.

Trying to create a snowy sphere using Insta-Snow can be a bit tricky, unless you know the secrets! After you’ve made a batch of Insta-Snow, push it into a pile. Carefully pour a small amount of water into the middle of the Insta-Snow and cover the hole you create with more snow from around your pile.
Does Insta-snow® evaporate?
Since Insta-Snow® is almost entirely made up of water, the water is bound to evaporate… this process of evaporation produces a constant cooling effect. That’s why it’s so much fun to touch! Does Insta-Snow® Melt?
Will Insta-snow® melt?
Insta-Snow® will not melt since it is not really frozen water. However, the water can be released from the superabsorbent polymer by adding salt to break apart the polymer chain. The addition of salt destroys the water absorbing properties of Insta-Snow® forever.
